Shayla Lawson is (and / or, at times, has been) an amateur acrobat, an architect, a Dutch housewife & dog-mother to one irascible hound. Her work has appeared in print & online at Tin House, ESPN, Salon & Guernica. She is the author of A Speed Education in Human Being, the chapbook PANTONE & I Think I’m Ready to See Frank Ocean. She is a 2017 MacDowell Colony Fellow, a 2018 Yaddo Artists’ Colony fellow, and co-curator of The Tenderness Project with Ross Gay.

Anastacia-Renee is Civic Poet of Seattle and former 2015-2017 Poet-in-Residence at Hugo House. She is the author of four books: Forget It (Black Radish Books), (v.) (Gramma Press), Answer(Me) (Argus Press), and 26 (Dancing Girl Press), and her poetry, prose and fiction have been published widely.

Host: Amanda Johnston earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Southern Maine. She is the author of two chapbooks, GUAP and Lock & Key, and the full-length collection Another Way to Say Enter (Argus House Press). Johnston is a Stonecoast MFA faculty member, a cofounder of Black Poets Speak Out, and founder / executive director of Torch Literary Arts. She serves on the Cave Canem Foundation board of directors and currently lives in Texas.
